one night in san jose...

i met these canadians...ben and jeff.

we all booked beds at hostel pangea...

we threw back a few rounds of imperials and sampled the local flavor...

we befriended a german, hans, and all walked over to the infamous hotel del rey, a casino and modern day brothel. an experience that left me both fascinated and disheartened.

i took a five hour bus from san jose to santa cruz. practiced my spanish and was surprised how fast it all came back, the little i know. a cabbie convinced me to go with him to playa negra. his name was silmar'jose and he stopped on the way to buy me a cold can of imperial. welcome to costa rica!!! cant say no to that. anyway, here in playa negra for un mes. going to go watch the surf.

last and never least...i also want to give a big birthday shout out to my bff megan englebrecht.
